Here
you can see a pretty good enlargement of the work. Here are a few
details in the piece. Starting with the left side at the top there is a
flying angel in the bookshelf. On the bookshelf below that there are two
soldiers. The left one is holding a banner with my "JAM" mark
on it. The other soldier is blowing a horn. Under that on the third
shelf are some toys. Below that is a mother cat and her kittens playing.
Going further down into the corner there is a doll, who seems to want to
play, her hand is stretched out to the center part where the girls are
playing with dolls. Going back to the center part of the left
side, there is boy sitting on a chair. He looks misplaced because he is.
He is bored. He does not like dolls. The center part is two girls
playing with dolls. They are not handsome girls as you can see and the
faces were modeled after some old family photos. Outside the
window you can see snow on the panes. They are playing on a circular
fringed rug.
In the right side of the piece a
smaller girl is playing with a doll. She is sitting on a pillow with
checker designs. At her feet is a cat playing with a ball. Below that is
another doll which looks surprised. Hmmm. You would never guess that
on the small piece if you did not see it! Behind her is a doll house. I
modeled this one after "The Visalian" dollhouse which was
popular at the time. |
