An Evening With Psychic Researcher Peter James*

For many years I have heard of the work done in psychic research by the celebrated psychic Peter James.

We almost worked together several times but, I never had the pleasure to meet with him.  A mutual friend,  Mr. Luis Gonzales, set up a dinner at the popular Casa Vega restaurant in  Studio City. I drive down permitting myself plenty of time. I have long discovered the way LA traffic can be.  Well, the drive into the San Fernando Valley was good, with little traffic on the roads.  I got there a full hour before dinner.  As I was driving to Casa Vega I saw a metaphysical bookstore three blocks away--I took a walk up the street to enjoy the atmosphere that always lingers in places like that.  I was impressed by the many books and artifacts in the place.

I wasn't there long before I looked up and saw Peter James standing there.  Like myself, he paused there to pass the time before the dinner. We introduced ourselves and made our way back to the restaurant. It seems we have more than our tastes in bookstores in common.  I had long followed his work on The Sightings TV Show and his ground breaking investigations on board the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach.  We discussed this psychic investigation and this and that. We discovered that we knew many of the same people.  Peter told of his new ghostly dinners on the Queen Mary where he gives a unique and personal tour of the haunted areas of the ship along with a fine dinner.

I told him about my newest book on the ghosts of Hollywood.  We agreed that there really isn't a supernatural world at all. Ghosts and such things are really very natural. We may, as yet, not understand what these things are but they are not the stuff of folklore and fiction.  We agreed that ghosts don't appear as skulls or as twisted bizarre apparitions.  He and I agreed that the videotape of a ghost at England's historic Hampton Court Palace must be a hoax because it is horrific image right out of gothic fiction.

Real ghosts try to duplicate living people, not the images of a fun house. Ghosts are, in fact, living people who just happen to be dead.  We enjoyed the fine food at Casa Vega and I came away with the knowledge that I had found a new friend.  I vowed to go down to the Queen Mary and take part in one of his dinner/tours. I am sure they will be excellent!

Mr. Peter James is a delightful investigator and a true professional. I would recommend him to anyone wishing to consult a psychic!  Richard Senate
